In the shadow of some backsliding during the Corona pandemic, there has been some encouraging momentum for fair pay over the past year: Different laws on pay transparency have been decided upon as in Switzerland, France or the United Kingdom. The European Commission published its long-awaited draft directive on pay transparency, which will make companies more accountable. And the European Court of Justice just recently ruled in favor of fair pay, especially specifying on the principle of equal pay for work of equal value.
After more than a year of facing exceptional challenges, it is time to bring these discussions together and to bundle them: We therefore kindly invite all actors and interested parties to participate in the International Pay Transparency Conference.
On this occasion, we have once again teamed up with the Equal Pay International Coalition, and with the support of the Berlin office of the International Labour Organization, we will bring together international speakers and experts on fair pay.
We cordially invite all parties involved to join this conversation and exchange their ideas on fair pay with European and international leaders from states, civil society, and companies.
Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to share and network with other interested parties and experts via wonder.me.

Dr. Margrét Vilborg Bjarnadóttir is an Associate Professor of Management Science and Statistics at Robert H. Smith School of Business and co-founder of PayAnalytics. Dr. Bjarnadóttir holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Iceland and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Sean Cartwright is a consultant in the Civil Society Division at UN Women HQ in New York. Sean supports the strategic engagement and partnership development with women’s and feminist civil society organizations to influence global action on gender equality and represents UN Women in EPIC.
Dr. Maria Concetta Corinto is the Director of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies since December 2010, in the past, she served in various Italian public administrations. Currently, she coordinates as Executive Manager, the office of the European and International Affairs Office of the Directorate General for Labour and Industrial Relations which looks at the relations between Italy and the European and other international institutions.
Kristín Þóra Harðardóttir is a lawyer at the Department of Equality in the Prime Minister's Office in Iceland. She specializes in equal pay issues and equality in the labor market. On behalf of the Government of Iceland, she is a member of the EPIC steering committee and a delegate of the Nordic cooperation for Gender Equality and LGBTI matters.
Marie Konstance, Consulting Project Lead for the Gender and Diversity KPI Alliance, Catalyst Inc., has a deep commitment to diversity and reducing income inequality. She established and manages the Gender and Diversity KPI Alliance, an effort funded and co-chaired by Catalyst, which promotes the adoption of three key performance indicators to measure gender and diversity. Launched in September 2020, the GDKA has over 70 corporate members and provides a community that shares best practices.
Harry Kyriazis, Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, BusinessEurope, worked in manufacturing and consulting. He sat at the Board of the Greek employers (SEV) heading social affairs until 2019, is now a freelance consultant, and serves in the Governing Body of ILO.
Lea-Maria Löbel is a Technical Officer at the ILO and its representation in Germany where she works on the crossroads of supporting development cooperation and knowledge transfer between the ILO and German constituents: ministries, social partners, the scientific community, and civil society. She is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at Humboldt University.
Esther Lynch was elected ETUC Deputy General Secretary at the Vienna Congress in May 2019, after four years as Confederal Secretary. She has extensive trade union experience at Irish, European, and international levels, starting with her election as a shop steward in the 1980s. Before coming to the ETUC, she was the Legislation and Social Affairs Officer with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), where she took part in negotiations on Ireland’s National Social Partner Agreements. Esther’s responsibilities as Deputy General Secretary include social dialogue, collective bargaining and wage policy, trade union rights, gender equality, and Brexit.
Katharina Miller (LL.M), President, European Women Lawyers Association, is an expert in gender equality and human rights. She is a founding partner of 3C Compliance, President of the European Women Lawyers Association (EWLA), and Incoming Head of the EU delegation of the G20 / W20. In 2017 and 2018 she was voted as one of Spain's Top 100 Women Leaders. She is an Advisory Board member of the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law.
Kira Marie Peter-Hansen, MEP, European Parliament, is the youngest politician ever elected for the European Parliament. Currently, she is the group coordinator in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, and the Rapporteur on the Pay Transparency directive on behalf of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.
Henrike von Platen founded the FPI Fair Pay Innovation Lab in 2017 to help companies and organizations achieve fair pay. As a financial and economic expert, Henrike is a university council member, lecturer, and author with one goal: fair pay for everyone.
Emanuela Pozzan is Senior Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination Specialist at the International Labour Organization and has experience working in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. She and coordinates initiatives on access to work for women, care economy, pay equity, and violence and harassment. She co-manages the Secretariat of the Equal Pay International Coalition.
Marcus Priest, Global Head of Reward at Novartis International AG, is passionately committed to fair pay practices, and at Novartis, he endeavors to build and maintain a corporate culture one can be proud of. He has worked in various HR and Reward roles at Novartis, and in 2019 he moved to Switzerland with his family in order to take up his current role as Global Head of Reward, Novartis Oncology, and as General Manager at Novartis for the EPIC commitments.
Christine Theodorovics, an Austrian-Swiss national has been in the financial industry for more than 20 years in various executive roles including CEO positions. She is now Chief Strategic Development Officer Europe she reports directly to the Group Executive Board and oversees activities in three European countries where she is also in the respective Supervisory Boards.
Monika Queisser, Head of Social Policy Division, OECD, is Senior Counsellor to the Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Directorate and the Head of Social Policy Division at the OECD, where she supervises and coordinates the work on social protection, social indicators, pensions, affordable housing, family and LGBTI+ policies.
